I like the fact that this shot is layered in it’s composition and the colors really work for me too. Took me a second look to figure out what was going on, and that’s kind of cool.
Ah, your photographic secrets revealed – it’s all in the shoes. I knew it! I kept on saying “it’s gotta be the shoes”…
Well caryn said all I was going to say. Anyway, the contrasting colors and the fact that this makes you halt and think really makes this photo.
The image works for me. Can’t imagine someone passing it by in a gallery
Wonderful composition!!!!!!. I too like the “layring”.
Also took me awhile to figure out whats going on..I like this shot!
Hey I recognize those shoes! 🙂 And Max made fun of you taking that shot . . .
What “The Shoe Project” should have been about.
Those ARE a photographer’s shoes. You can tell that whoever wears them does not stay on dry and level paths and sidewalks, for sure.
I thought at first that the picture would have been better “right side up”, with the shoes at the bottom, but then I came to appreciate the existing layout in the abstract, separate from the “real” meanings of the pieces of the image. There’s a lovely “layering” at that semantic level too: you recognize the shot as beautiful well before you recognize what it’s actually depicting.
yup. very cool image indeed.
The levels of not only composition, but contrast between the shoes and the sky is wonderful. Great shot.
clever! like the contrasts too
I like the perspektive. The photo suprised me at first. It is really a beautiful shot! I often visit your site, because I get inspired of your photos.
