What a breathtaking shot! It reminds me that humans are indeed very small compared to so many other things in this world.
Great shot, but the title intrigues me…
The title of the entry refers to the name of the area. The Buttermilks are a somewhat notorious area for bouldering (climbing over large boulders) in Southern California.
Anne, do you scan all your photos? If so, you should really consider investing in a digital SLR. I must say, your talent deserves it, considering the shots on your site. Get a Nikon D70 — it’s a dream come true.

This is breathtaking, Anne. Really gorgeous.
Fantastic shot. The person in the shot gives everything a sense of scale. If I were to nikpick, I’d say a neutral density filter would make the sky really POP. But then again, you really captured the mood, and that’s what counts.

Amazing, we’d love to be there.
Holy S*@#! What a beautiful image! I’m totally missing home now. Living on the most densely populated island in the world (Java) will do that to a guy I suppose.
I’ve actually never seen Cali before – I’m jealous.
